About

My Cooking Hut is my new food and travel blog. Previously, my blog was hosted by blogspot as Lemongrass. Although My Cooking Hut has different appearance, the principles still stay the same - you will discover more recipes sharing, thoughts about food & travel, and also reviews of restaurants that I have been.

As the writer of My Cooking Hut, needless to say, I am passionate about food - not only eating but making them too. I was born and bred in Malaysia, a multi-cultural country, my experiences and passion for food have been growing and I want to share this.

Believe it or not, the first dish that I learnt was fried rice. It sounds easy and it’s a easy to make meal that you can put any ingredients beyond your imagination. My mom has always been the chef in the kitchen. I started off as a kitchen helper rather than a sous chef. Basic kitchen tasks - to chop, to slice or to peel was never an order. Apart from that, the learning curve was very much involved in getting to know the basic spices and raw ingredients in the Asian kitchen.

I cook frequently at home. I make Asian food, mostly Chinese, Malaysian, and Indian. In addition, I cook Modern French food. I do, from time to time, reinvent and create my own recipes. I adore Michelin Stars Chefs that are able to create dishes out of our imaginations!

Apart from cooking, I do enjoy taking pictures of the dishes that I make. As time goes by, I have developed great interest in photography. I shoot all my pictures with Nikon D40. My Cooking Hut is definitely my archive of recipes and photographs, so make it yours too!
