i am confused, because you speak first about the four friends that are in malay curries, but then in this recipe, none of the four friends is present!

That is really a great idea to add in blended cashew or almost nut and lemongrass… I will try next time.
Yeah, adding dark soya sauce make the sauce darker and tastier too..

I cook ayam masak merah the usual malay version,since yours has the soy sauce i take it as adding a chinese touch to it..it look pretty thou I’m sure it tastes good..jus to share I add in blended cashew or almond nuts and bruised lemongrass..
