Summer Recipe: Summer Berry Smoothie

Yes, it’s boiling! Temperature above 3o°C can be said as boiling! A heatwave warning has been issued for England, with temperatures in some areas potentially rising as high as 32C (90F) in the coming days. It’s unusual to see this kind of headline in the newspaper, but, hey, sounds good to me! Hopefully, this summer will be much much better than last, which I don’t remember I saw the summer sun for more than 1 week?

During warm and humid days, I love cold drinks. Chilled smoothies are great! Since there are plenty of berries at this time of the year, I grab the opportunity to buy all the berries that I like and blend them to make into a glass of goodness! There are no rules to make smoothie. You use whatever fruits you like and blend them into the best drink ever! Ah, full of vitamins, of course! If you are on detox diet plan, smoothie is a must in your menu.  What kind of fruits would you use to make your smoothie?

Summer is colourful, warm and lively. Make this smoothie today!

Mmmm… that looks very refreshing.. it has been rainy here… what I would not do for hot weather! Maybe I should whip up one of these smoothies, turn up the temperature in the house, close my eyes and pretend I'm in England. Ah.. now that sounds blissful.

    • mycookinghut replied: — July 1st, 2009 @ 18:33

      Hi Cheri,
Sounds like a good idea to me! Thanks for your comment!

30degC!? That's typically Singapore temperature all year round. Yes, it is boiling all year round and I am scalded!

    • mycookinghut replied: — July 3rd, 2009 @ 18:15

      Tigerfish,
Yes I know.. over here, 30 degrees is really a big deal.. hehehehehhe.. in Malaysia, I never check the temperature on the daily basis like what I do here.. I think it's better to have warm better than too cold, no?

Ciao Leemei, how are you? I’m fine especially now that the rain has stopped also in Italy! I heard about smoothie lots of times without knowing what it is. So you say that there is no rules but would you still call it a smoothie if you put milk in it? Or is it made only with fruit? Anyway I love bananas and raspberries:)) Bye Sabrina

    • mycookinghut replied: — July 5th, 2010 @ 14:25

Ciao Sabrina! It has been a while.. :)
Yes, you can put milk, soya milk or even soya yoghurt if you like :)
