Christine,
Thai Basil is definitely a good idea. I think it will make this dish tastes more authentic - more SE Asian taste :)
Most of the time, I tend to use fresh egg noodles. But after I have tried this type of slightly flat dry egg noodles, I think they are just as good as the fresh ones. Or shall I say, they do have their characters that I really love :)

I really like the way you've used dry egg noodles here. I don't use them as often as I should. I'll definitely try this recipe soon with the Thai basil I'm growing this summer.

tigerfish,
I love this combination. It's a dish that is full of flavours :)

Mallika,
Don't worry about the Meme that I tagged you. I've forgotten about that too! I just love noodles.. tasty with any combinations and quick to make!

Nilmrandra,
For this time, I used the normal sweet basil. And where I live, holy basil are only sold at Chinese/Vietnamese supermarkets unfortunately. It meant that I had to make a separate trip to get them. So, I settled with sweet basil. :(

If you have a pot of sweet basil, use them! I am not very good in growing basil at home, they survived for only a few weeks so I gave up :(

I once tried with holy basil, the difference is it gives slight pungent flavour than the sweet basil. With the chilies, it brings the whole SE Asia flavours. I think I like the dissimilarity of both!

Did you use normal sweet basil (as in Italian cooking) or Thai holy basil? I love the fragrance of holy basil but they are difficult to get hold of here :( On the other hand I have a pot of sweet basil in the kitchen, heh. I love picking some off and scattering them in tomato soup.
