Happy Chinese New Year! ????!

Gong Xi Fa Cai! ?????It’s Chinese New Year tomorrow 07/02/08. It’s also call Spring Festival as it marks the beginning of Spring.

This year is the year of Rat. It is the 1st sign in the Chinese Zodiac. It’s said that this year would be an overall good year for me. So, fingers crossed!

I got extremely excited as a kid as there were always lots of food at home and at relatives’ places. The most interesting part was to receive Hong Bao (red packet). Red packet is a red envelope with money in it. It symbolises luck and wealth. In Chinese tradition, only married persons can give red packets. So, kids and those who are singles are the receiving ones.

Even though tomorrow is the official day of Chinese New Year, I won’t be celebrating until Saturday. Well, a lunch was planned on Saturday. I will get you guys posted ;)

Have a great Year of Rat!!
